Brian and Jaime

Good Day Bloggers!
DJ Gregg again with this week's installment of the wedding blog. Our story starts at the wonderful B Ocean on Ft. Lauderdale beach. This is by far one of the most picturesque locations in town. You cant get a better ocean view!
As the guests came in for the ceremony. I was asked to keep it neo-classical. I used tunes from the Vitamin String Quartet and 2Cellos.
When the girls came in, I played "Lean On Me" Piano version and then a wonderful version of "Stand By Me" by Hi Q. Jaime looked great!
The ceremony was fairly traditional and straightforward. The pastor had the bride and groom read vows that they wrote for each other. They even lit a memory candle for Jaime's dad who passed away recently. It was a nice touch.
After the ceremony, everyone went to the lobby for cocktails and appetizers. Sushi and wantons.... MMM MMM GOOD.]
I was asked to keep the music light, with tracks from Sinatra, Dino, Tony....you get the picture.
OK...... now we are ready to open the main dining room. I played upbeat music for the guests to dance in to the room.
Then I lined up the bridal party. I played "Clocks" by Coldplay for the bridal party and " Rock You Like A Hurricane" by the Scorpions for Brian and Jaime. It went over great! The room erupted with applause as Brian and Jaime came it. I then instructed them to stay on the dance floor for the first dance" Smother Me" by the Used. A really great slow song. Then I invited the bridal party to dance to "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis. After this, I sat everyone down and asked the best man, Bill, to say the champagne toast. He has been friends with the groom for over 20 years, so he had lots to talk about. Now dinner is served. Again, I kept it kind of light. I played 80's and 90's hits...per the request of the bride and groom. I also played some standards for the Aunts and Uncles in the crowd.
After dinner, I invited Brian to dance with his mom..."Don't Speak" by No Doubt was chosen. I found out that this song had a very special meaning to mom. When Brian was in school, he used to sing the song to his mom when she would drive him home.
Once the song ended, I picked up the pace!
I played a lot of different styles and genres. Top 40 all the way to some classic rock. Man, I was all over the place!
This was a party crowd. EVERYBODY loved to dance. It was truly enjoyable to see.
We then sat everyone down and I asked Brian and Jaime to cut the cake. Brian was a gentlemen...feeding his bride nice and clean.
Jaime? Well that's another story.. She smashed the cake all over his face.... It was hilarious!
There were no garter and bouquet tosses as most of the guests were already married.
We then danced the rest of the night.
The last song of the evening was a very special request from Brian " Pearl Of Stars" by Coheed and Cambria. It was a really good song.
All in all, it was a very successful evening.
