WOW! What a great party!
DJ Gregg is back with another installment for the blog. Our story starts at the Royal Fiesta in Deerfield Beach. An excellent venue if you are looking for an elegant touch.

As the guests arrived for cocktail hour, I played an eclectic mix of music from many styles and genres. All funky. When it came time to do the grand entrance, I played the Party Rock Anthem for the bridal party. They all danced in. Then I introduced the Bride and Groom. As they entered the dance floor, I was instructed to play Soulja Boy for about a minute. It was fun. Then I went into their real first dance. "Hard to concentrate" by the Chili Peppers. I then proceeded to play the parents dance. "Because you loved me" by Celene Dion was chosen. Then I asked the guests to be seated. The maid of honor and Best man said the toasts and then a blessing by the brides brother. Since the bride is native from Colombia, it was said in English and Spanish.

The first course went off without a hitch. I played some Salsa and some slow songs in between courses. When dinner ended I invited the guests up for a slow song and BAM! into the celebration HORA. Derek is Jewish and a the place went crazy! Lifting the bride and groom up in the chairs at the same time! The really had a great time! After the hora, I danced the crowd. A young crowd, so I kept it pretty modern. Lots of dance, hip-hop and latin music was played all night. I also did the garter and bouquet toss and of course the cake cutting. The wedding cake was very unique. Derek is a firefighter, so the wedding cake had a firemen's flair. On top of the cake was just the bride. Next to the wedding cake was a smaller cake shaped like a fire truck. A ladder was going up to the top of the real cake with the "fireman" climbing up to rescue the "Damsel in Distress". Very cute and romantic. Lots of pictures were taken of the cake. I love originality.

It was a great time and I wish the bride and groom the best!
